Coffee doesn't have virtually any calories, fat or carbohydrates. What we add to it is what makes us feel guilty. A small frappuccino contains 280 calories and 52 grams of carbs, and that is the light version. There is a few diets like the South Beach Diet (which I am constantly on and off) that recomends not to drink regular coffee since caffeine elevates the insuline levels and so the cravings. According to South Beach diet "officials" it is always good to stick with decaf coffee and stay away from half and half, regular milk and even regular soy milk.
You can always use these alternatives at home:

you can make your own coffee drinks at home using low fat milk, decaffeinated coffee and sugar free syrups like Torani or DaVinci. I even use the light or sugar free whipped topping. I've been making "lattes" at home using the sugar free vanilla syrup. I am a "huge" sugar addict, and I think these are really good.
The south beach diet now says you can have lower fat milk as long as you don't go nuts.
I think coffee shops can accomodate you with sugarless options, as well as using low fat milk. I just prefer making them at home, rather than giving someone $4 for the same thing.
